The Bookcase
All students do not qualify for financial aid. Even though students don't qualify doesn't stop the need for help. Books are very costly. I happened upon this program that has a bookcase full of books that students can borrow at no cost. This photo shows some of the books that students use each semester. The program that provides these books is specialized for adults to attend classes at night and also 6 Saturdays out of the semester. The good thing about this program is that students don't have to travel to campus so often. This cuts down on costs. This bookcase saves students not only money but also the stress of not being able to afford books. If there were more book borrowing programs more students would be less stressed about finding money for textbooks. Some students also donate their books to this cause. They realize the struggle and want to help. If more people in power would donate just a few hundred dollars for books many more students will be able to benefit from resource programs such as this. This bookcase belongs to the PACE department.
