Health Aid
Starting this fall semester there will be a new health fee for all students. This fee is required to be paid even if students have their own medical coverage. The fee is minimal and is only a one time cost but the fact that it isn't optional seems unfair. The fee is $17 but it is an unneeded cost if a student doesn't care to utilize the services. If the student doesn't use the services and is still required to pay then it is money down the drain for them. The health services that can be obtained with the cost are great for students who will use it. The campus that I regularly attend doesn’t currently have an area where students receive medical care. I mentioned that to the cashier's office and the agent helping me didn't give me any reassurance that an office would be in place for students to receive health services on that campus by the fall semester. Most students have financial struggles and no health care. However, if there is no office in place what will that money go towards?
