Easy cash for the Easypass
This is my Translink Easypass. This pass is a very useful card to have if you want to use public transportation. This Easypass is a very low cost pass that gives you unlimited rides on AC transit. When I discovered the availability of this pass I was sort of excited about it because it only cost me $31. Then the excitement went away after I realized I don't really like using the bus to get around. The cost for this card is mandatory to all students whether or not they desire to obtain a pass. Peralta calls it a transportation fee. The other sad fact I received regarding this card is a “fee waiver” for it. A student found out from the cashier's office that a fee waiver could be obtained for the transportation fee. I again got excited because I assumed I would be able to get the pass for free. When I mentioned the fee waiver to the cashier she told me if I received the fee waiver then I would not be allowed to get the easy pass and it was only to waive the transportation fee. $31 may not seem like much to some people but it is for students who catch the bus and other students facing financial difficulties. The last disturbing piece of information is that the cashier's office told the student not to tell any other students about the fee waiver. If students are able to save money on costs why would the financial system try to prevent students from receiving money saving information?
