Eva

This is Eva Fung, a sophomore at UCLA. Her reasons for being at Laney are the same as mine: summer courses for credits. We had only a short time to chat, so I just asked her for a general opinion of her education and her reasons. She felt that college was too competitive and expensive, but that it was also necessary to get farther in the world. Her goals, which she remarked were probably shared by many others, were to earn a degree which would hopefully make her qualified for a good job. She told me that she would like to learn things just for the sake of learning, but with a major in neuroscience, there are just too many prerequisite classes that she can't find time to have those leisure classes. I am in a pre-pharmacy program, and I can completely relate with dealing with that mountain of prereqs. But in doing so, I guess we both must really know what we want?
